Emergency's...

I had planned on posting last Tuesday but with an emergency appointment made for the vet it just wasn't possible.
This Young Man
Had us all worrying... he had a slight swelly belly on the Monday evening, but didn't think too much of it as he hadn't been to the toilet yet, Tuesday morning it was slightly bigger, so let him in the garden for a while, came in and laid down on the rug in the room, swelling not as bad... went upstairs for a bit to get a few cards done, came down and his swelly belly was a lot larger and he'd had an accident on the rug, which is unlike him, so I rang the vet who said she couldn't get me in until the Wednesday, I asked if there was any way to be seen today (just felt that he needed to be seen as soon as possible), she said I could go but it would be a sit and wait, "absolutely fine" was my reply.
He was first assessed, then booked straight in with the vet who saw him within minutes... Forms signed to investigate, to ascertain whether it was fluid or blood... vet came back, not good news, it was blood which meant he was bleeding internally and he needed an x-ray to see whether it was in his lungs as if it was there was no hope for him but it not in his lungs then there was a fighting chance... x-rays came back and it was not on his lungs but he'd lost a lot of blood so there was a chance he may not pull through the operation, so with permission they went ahead with the emergency operation, the wait was unbearable... sat there waiting to see if your baby boy pulled through the operation or not whilst everyone else is coming and going with their pets... after what seems like forever the vet came out and said he'd pulled through the op but the next 24hrs were critical as he'd lost half his body's blood, his spleen had had a tumour on it and that had ruptured so they took it all out and unbelievably found no other tumours, so if he pulled through the next 24hrs he'd have hopefully a few more years with us, but it was only because I got him in when I had, if i'd waited until the Wednesday he wouldn't have made it through Tuesday night!
He had to be transported to another surgery as they didn't cater for overnight patients... so in the car he placed and a trip to Bradford ensued... I didn't want to leave him all alone in the vets but I wasn't allowed to stay... he'd be sedated and hooked up to an IV.
I rang the next morning at 10am, after no sleep, to find that he was a lot brighter and had even been to the toilet, apparently it's always a good sign... lol, I was also allowed to pick him up at lunchtime... Yay, relief was an understatement to what I feeling at that moment!
A quick trip to The Range for a nice clean new bed and some treats, then to pick him up :) The new bed was placed across the back seat for him to lay on, he was still a bit out of it with the pain meds etc but he was ok... he did nothing but sleep for the first few hours of being home... I had a much needed cat nap too... boys came home from school and were over the moon to see him.
I had to take him back for a check-up at my vets on the Thursday and they were surprised how much he'd brightened up and would enjoy the box of Heroes choccies we took them :)
He's brightened up a lot over the last week and is due back to the vets on Monday for his stitches out, then hopefully it'll just be a regular check-up from then onwards!

I'll be back later with a crafty updated!

MIA...

Sorry for disappearing... things have been busy and stressful round here at the moment... got a lot on my mind but heyho!
As I mentioned in a previous post we have found Keira a new home... she's settling in nicely albeit a few mishaps but hopefully they will subside. Do you remember me mentioning this little lady below...

Well... she has no chip so has been booked to get one and will be joining our little family... she is officially named Snowy.

Missy in the picture above has had me very worried as she's not been well... all last weekend she did nothing but sleep, no eating, drinking... just sleep... Monday she seemed to perk up a bit and started eating, only a little but alas eating and drinking a little, but she still was out of sorts... Wednesday she started making clicking sounds with her tongue and looked as if she was struggling to swallow so I rang the vet who gave me an appointment for 4pm. I took both Missy & Snowy (as she'd become a little too sleepy) to get them checked and it seems Missy may have picked up a Virus that she kindly shared with Snowy... a shot of anti-biotics for both and an extra strong painkiller for Missy as she has a blister on her tongue... a course of anti-biotics to give them at home for the next week too... and boy are they loving that as i'm crushing the tablets up and mixing it with Tuna twice a day... and of course Fubar has to have his share of the Tuna without medicine.
Today they seem to have perked up and are back to chasing each other around the house.

On the crafting side of things there hasn't been as much as i'd like... my mind just hasn't been on it and what I have created I can't share at the moment as they are for swaps or Christmas gifts... although I can share one after Sunday as i'm going to Peterborough with the lovely Monica for a training event where we will be holding a swap using items from the New Catalogue.
I promise I will try and get some New Catalogue inspiration on here as soon as possible but in the meantime if you'd like to place an order then please feel free to contact me via the email address under the catalogue to the right in my sidebar :)

IS HERE !! FINALLY...

The much awaited and anticipated Catalogue Launch is finally HERE.  If you haven't got a hard copy yet you can now finally have a look at the online one and start making your wish list.

Then GET IN TOUCH WITH ME !!  It is such a fabulous Book, I adore so much of this catalogue I don’t even know where to begin.

CLEAR MOUNT Stamps? YIPEEEEE for those of you with space saving issues these will be a God send,  also the lower prices means you can BUY so much more.

I love the choice they are so easy to use and they stamp just as beautiful. I personally don't get on with wood mount so am loving the New Clear Mount.

PUNCHES- WOW 14 new ones all in the new design (see current Bird Punch design)

LOVE< LOVE My fave thing in this catalogue is the COLOUR COACH page 81.
OMG this wonderful tool is a great resource to have on hand, and any crafter should have one. This will help you no end putting together successful colour schemes effortlessly. I am quite good on my own with colour but not this good!  I have used mine ever since I got it, it makes life so easy.
The way it works -  well it cleverly displays the whole core colours plus the 5 NEW In Colours, and on the back you have at least 2 suggested combinations for each one of those colours so TONS of different and exciting combos, is truly fabulous, I cannot wait to show you some wonderful fresh colour combinations inspired by this lovely little book.

Talk about the NEW COLOURS....WOW!!! Wonderful new and exciting colours all crying to be used first, I was so upset with SU for retiring so many of my fave colours and now after seeing them all I am so excited I absolutely LOVE them !!!
I now fully realize that we needed a renovation I just didn’t know it at the time *smile*.

Of course there are far too many new products in this book I could mention but I won’t, because I want you to have another look and another one , and I promise you that with each look you will discover new treasures.

I am just hoping your bank manager is an understanding one as your wish list grows and grows.

And if your list is BIG, then maybe you would like to consider one of my Virtual Clubs starting at the end of October, they are a great way for you to collect the desired items over a period of time and BLOW THE BUDGET in the month you are the hostess and receive all the freebies associated with that order. To find out more about the clubs, then get in touch at erika.sissons@ntlworld.com to reserve your place.
I'll be back in the next day or two with details of Paper, Ribbon, Marker & New In Colour shares that I have in mind.
Until then I hope enjoy browsing the all new catalogue.
